Program areas at Montana Association of School Business Officials

MASBO provides a major summer networking event in which our members receive over 36 hours of professional development participate in networking opportunities with colleagues government representatives and agencies and various other vendors that schools rely on to operate throughout the year. This event is the capstone of our year's workshops hitting on a variety of areas of expertise in school finance and operations. We are able to measure the success through engagement the following years efficiencies and various means of survey and affiliate feedback.
MASBO provides a variety of training events activities and one on one advising throughout the year that are solely provided by MASBO staff and do not include our summer event or the interim and onsite training listed in the prior to portions. These trainings take place in person over webinar and over phone. We also have compiled a robust library of materials and other resources on our website that our members have unlimited access to including a monthly newsletter and calendar of key dates.
MASBO employs two training and professional development coordinators who provides on-site services and training to school districts that request help in their business office. Such help may involve fillings in during clerk vacancies by performing basic duties annual financial reporting and budgeting during the new clerk search and training the newly hired clerk on-site. Interim services may also serve to assist a district in situations where the work in the business office has been neglected incorrect or incomplete to degree that additional help is needed to bring the financial records back into compliance with state and federal regulations and deadlines.
