Montana Red Angus Association Incorporated

The MTRAA sponsors a Prestigious Red Angus cattle sale to showcase member breeders by giving them an outlet to market their registered seedstock to interested Purebred and commercial cattle producers all over the US. In 2023, the 40th Annual Prestigious NILE Red Angus sale was held in Billings, MT. The organization received proceeds from the sale in a clearing account and then disbursed the funds back to the sale consignors of the sale. The expenses of the sale are allocated to the consignors. The MTRAA helps promote this sale this sale through advertising and also hosts a luncheon for people in attendance.

MTRAA holds an annual membership meeting in October of each year in conjunction with the associations Prestigious NILE sale. The membership meeting is held on Thursday during the event. Subsequent to the NILE Red Angus sale the association hosts a banquet for members and other interested cattlemen. We encourage all of the membership to attend. In 2023, over 90 people attended this banquet to celebrate MTRAA. This banquet is for the purpose of its members to recognize their volunteer contributions to the association and to develop and maintain relationships within our organization..

The MTRAA promotes our breed and member breeders though a calendar program. Breeders purchase calendar space, the calendars are printed to include cattle gestation information and Breeder Auction dates. The calendars are then disbursed to the Breeders and to Commercial cattlemen through trade shows, livestock sale barns and other agriculture industry events. MTRAA prints over 600 calendars. This program is one of the first of its kind in the Red Angus breed,
