Connecting our farming heritage with our growing future by engaging students at the crossroads of sustainable agriculture, resource conservation, health, and economics through educational experiences in outdoor classes, on field trips, through youth farmers markets, and in summer farm camps. Program areas at Montezuma School to Farm Project

Montezuma School To Farm Project provides monthly garden lessons for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students at six schools in Montezuma county, catering To over 1,000 students monthly. These lessons include critical concepts for steam topics that alighn with Colorado state academic standards and next generation science standards, tastings of nutritional foods within the gardens, and holistic models that include aspects of several interconnecting disciplines. These lessons are the organizations largest and most consistent program. Montezuma School To Farm Project utilizes its six School gardens and a two acre production plot To grow over 5,000 pounds of food and donate it througout the community. Using resource conserving and sustainable agricultural processes, the organization responsibly grows local, organic, and nutrient dense food. All of the food is distributed via donations To community members, food pantries, and food shares. During 2023, the organization was able To continue program activities in mancos Colorado by offering enrichment activities for middle School students and additional programs on fridays when students are not in School. The organization served 429 students in friday programs and provided 212 lessons To Montezuma county studendts, achieving a total of 543 teaching hours.
