Program areas at Montgomery Botanical Center
The Center grows, maintains and makes available for scientific research and educational purposes collections of palms, cycads and other tropical plants.
Helps support the Montgomery Botanical Center seedbank. The seedbank provides widespread cultivation of imperiled plants and helps ensure against their extinction. Making prized plants species abundantly available in the horticulture trade directly reduces pressure on the wild populations. This is the primary reason for the organization's commitment to sharing its living collection seeds produced from Montgomery Botanical Center living collections are routinely distributed to botanic gardens, research institutions, universities, schools, and plant societies worldwide. Pollen collections are also available as needed.
