Starbase: is a hands on learning program in coordination with maxwell air force base to raise interest and improve both the knowledge and skill sets of students specifically in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathmatics (stem). This program serves students who are historically under represented in stem feilds, students who live in urban communities, or rural areas, who are socioeconomically disadvantaged or perform poorly in academics.
Charter schools:the charter school conversion between Montgomery Education Foundation and Montgomery public schools aims to accelerate the learning opportunities, improve academic and social performance, and implement new & successful instructional strategies for students at davis elementary, nixon elementary, and bellingrath middle school. The charter school conversion's overall objective include: 1) for each school to rise from a failing report card to a "c or above in 5 years or less, 2) to increase funding and retained funding by improving learning and academic performace/results, and 3) impact a larger number of students.
Summer learning program: engages Montgomery's youth during the summer, through literacy & stem with a multi-concept stem enrichment lab and provides opportunities for children to explore, have fun, and build deeper relationships with their peers and teachers during the summer.mgm reads (a sub-program of summer learning: seeks to provide and distribute underserved students and families in the Montgomery community with culturally relevant books and literacy support materials to extend learning support during the summer.
Community engagement: seeks to mobilize community associations, parent-teacher groups and school leadership in our public schools in order to support the needs and challenges of both students and educators
Other program services: to achieve and accomplish educating socio-econimcally disadvantaged children in school in Montgomery and the surrounding area. Portions of funding are also expensed to pre-kindergarten, and fundraising in order to expand the Education offered in the Alabama school system, and help fulfill the basic needs and supplies and quality Education in order to accomplish this.
