In 2023, lazy point farms provided consultation and gear for local kelp farmers and advocates, including mastic beach conservancy, The town of hempstead, thatch island oyster, dune fishery, violet cove, reti center, and The oyster bay kelp team, who are growing, harvesting, and processing kelp. Funds go towards testing kelp for contaminants, gametophyte research, advocacy on social media, and continued efforts to educate on The uses and benefits of growing kelp in nys waters.
In 2023, The brooklyn diaper project secured partnerships with five local nonprofit organizations and delivered 145,800 diapers to them. Ongoing outreach efforts were built in partnership with The organizations as well as expanding an ongoing social media campaign to bolster support for local diaper need advocacy. Materials and letters were composed to reach local government representatives to educate about The pervasive nature of local diaper need. A new diaper hub was purchased and installed to accept diaper donations from The community as well as provide a source of support for community members in need.
