Moose Mountains Regional Greenways identifies and conserves important natural resources, educates the community about conservation with ongoing programs throughout the year, and enjoyed a resurgence in post-COVID events. The Annual Woods, Water and Wildlife Festival drew nearly 500 people with strong sponsorships and fundraising. There were also 13 other planned events.

Program areas at Moose Mountains Regional Greenways

MMRG continues its growth in the post-Covid and post-organizational merger era. This year, the organization continued the exponential growth of its individual fundraising efforts, increasing the revenue generated by its Annual Appeal campaign by more than 16% over 2022. This is the fifth consecutive year of double digit percentage growth in Annual Appeal revenue, which is the primary driver of fundraising for the organization. Also increasing in 2023 were the number of events (24), the number of volunteer hours (767) and the number of event participants (560). In 2023, MMRG also completed 3 conservation easements and one fee acquisition, for a total of 4 completed conservation projects and 383 acres permanently conserved. This is the most number of projects MMRG has completed in a year in its history and 2024 is predicted to close 5 projects, also a record. Fully staffed with well-qualified personnel, MMRG continues its upward trajectory in all areas and reports increasing success in its events, volunteer engagement, community education, fundraising and conservation efforts.
