Schedule O: Job Training and Career ServicesGoodwill is a community-based nonprofit organization and a leading provider of job training and career services in Massachusetts. Goodwill's mission services help individuals who face barriers to self-sufficiency prepare for the workplace, find jobs and advance in order to support themselves and their families. In the year ending June 30, 2024, Goodwill served 6,634 individuals through its mission services.Placement-oriented job training programs enrolled 242 individuals considered hardest to employ, offering case management, job skills and job readiness training, on-the-job training, placement and post placement services. These trainees included individuals with limited work histories and low educational attainment, citizens returning from correction, victims of domestic violence, and those with developmental and other disabilities. Goodwill's social enterprises provided work experience and a paycheck to 173 individuals in retail and housekeeping/maintenance. (The retail program is described in Part III, Line 4b).MassHire Boston Career Center, the one-stop career center Goodwill operates, assisted 6,195 individuals with career services and referrals to training programs and documented 540 placements.In addition, Goodwill offered a range of pre-vocational and other day programs to 124 individuals with developmental and other disabilities, including public high school students with special needs.
Schedule O: Retail ProgramThe retail program is a social enterprise that benefits the community by providing jobs and job training for individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency and making quality, low-cost goods available at affordable prices. In the year ending June 30, 2024, Goodwill's retail program operated 15 stores and collected donations at an additional 14 sites throughout Massachusetts. The retail program provided jobs and job training opportunities in collecting, processing, merchandising and selling donated goods. It also offered community members a convenient way to recycle clothing and household goods and created economic vitality in the communities in which stores and operations are located.Form 990, Part IV, Lines 12a-12b, and 34:Related Tax-Exempt EntityMorgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, Inc. established Goodwill Headquarters, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, in May 2010 as a supporting organization for Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, Inc.
