Program areas at MOSTE

The moste a-g requirements were developed to ensure a standardized system for program implementation and scholar participation in moste's college access program. Modeled after a to g subject requirements to enter both the unversity of California or the California state university system,the moste a-g requirements standardize the subjects that all moste scholars must "study" prior to completing the moste middle school program and the more moste high school program. As a compliment to the a-g requirements for all California high school Students, which focus on math, english, science, history, et cetera. The subjects for the moste a-g requirements include college preparation, professional development, cultural Experience, community service, community empowerment, imtrospection, and personal.
The moste mentoring program connects moste and more moste scholars with a college-educated, professional female in the greater los angeles community. Moste mentors are available as a resource, role model,and friend to scholars throughout their path to college. In addition, moste mentors participate in the a-g college access program activities and events throughout the year. As of june 2021, moste had 94 Students and 63 mentors participating.
The moste scholarship program includes two types of scholarships. The incentive scholarship is awarded to culminating eighth grade scholars, based on their participation in the moste a-g college access program,their scholarship essay and application, and letters of recommendation. The purpose of the scholarship is to incentivize continued success Through high school. Likewise, the achievement scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors for their achievements in high school and the more moste program. In june 2021 moste awarded 8 incentive scholarships to rising 9th graders, which will be held in trust until the scholars attend college. Moste awarded 9 achievement scholarships to rising college freshman.
