Program areas at Mountain Home Montana
Mountain Home's mission is to provide a safe Home and nurturing community, where young mothers discover their strengths, and children thrive. The pregnant and parenting 16-29-year-olds we serve are some of the highest- risk parents in Montana. Approximately 54% were involved with the foster care system themselves as children and 90% have experienced significant childhood trauma. To break those negative generational cycles, Mountain Home provides residential care through our six-unit group Home and five transitional living apartments, as well as the range of tools young mothers need to build better lives for themselves and their children. Each year Mountain Home serves an average of 200 young mothers and children through our residential and non-residential services. All Mountain Home participants have access to individual and group therapy, an evidenced-based supportive employment/continuing education program, an array of proven life-skills and parent education classes, trauma-informed childcare, and intensive case management that builds young moms' confidence in advancing their individual life goals. With this comprehensive support, Mountain Home proactively addresses the root causes of generational poverty and trauma - building brighter futures two generations at a time.
