Move Mountain View strives to alleviate the problem of homelessness and engage the community in assisting the underprivileged. Acting as the lead agency, we operate the safe parking program in Mountain View and Palo Alto, California, serving an average of 175 household members at any one time. We work under contract to Santa Clara County and local congregations.

Program areas at Move Mountain View

Since 2018 Move Mountain View has been operating the safe parking program in Mountain View. An average of 192 household members are sheltered nightly and receive intensive case management toward housing placement. The lots are clean and monitored by staff and professional security patrols. Water and toilets are supplied at all the lots. In 2021 our first safe parking lot opened in palo alto, including an rv lot with showers, laundry, clothes closet childrens library, kitchen, and computer lab. The clients are served by a compassionate and professional staff of 10. Moves current capacity is 133 vehicles across 9 safe parking lots.
