Fight Back Table (FBT): The Fight Back Table (FBT) convenes other tax-exempt organizations to foster collaboration, alignment, and teamwork to tackle the unprecedented threats facing our democracy and communities of color. The FBT continued to address and coordinate around the heightened attacks on "culture war" issues, including critical race theory, reproductive rights and justice, and gun violence. As local and national groups surfaced a need for resources, messaging, and on-the-ground support to respond to dangerous and divisive tactics, the FBT played an important role in developing and executing a strategy to push back on the culture wars. At the end of August 2023, FBT entered into a fiscal sponsorship agreement with a (See Scheduel O)separate organization, and MoveOn Education Fund transferred the FBT infrastructure out of MoveOn Education Fund into the new fiscal sponsor. MoveOn Education Fund continues to be a core participant of the FBT coalition.
General:In 2023, MoveOn Education Fund promoted and empowered people to support a range of important issues, including economic, racial, and gender justice, and policies to reduce gun violence. It continued to work toward its long-term goal of building a democracy where all people have a chance to thrive, free from systemic racism, misogyny, violence, and oppression.
Countering White Christian Nationalism:MoveOn Education Fund supported the project to "counter white Christian nationalism," which focuses on building relationships across sectors, creates shared learning and strategy spaces for actors in our ecosystem, and drives unique projects that help fill a gap in our movements so that we can be better prepared over the long arch to counter the reemergence of this threat to a pluralistic democracy. In 2023, the initiative brought together a cross section of leaders in progressive organizing, faith communities, research, and academia, centered around the shared interest of countering the reemergence of white Christian nationalism within mainstream America.
