Community outreach workshops and educational activities throughout los angeles, informing local residents about environmental issues, and providing access to open natural spaces. The charity is currently refurbishing juntos park in the city of los angeles. In this endevor,the organization is focused on community listening and engagement and school presentations in order to design a renovated park design with many upgrades. Also working on a project vamos a La playa, where children are taken on field trips to the beach and other parts of the coast. This project is 4 years old. Last year we held 3 vamos a La playa family events. We took over 140 community member to malibu beaches for a fun, family day.
Mujeres de La Tierra has teamed up with other organizations to provide education about restoringnative vegetation. In 2023, a grant of $730,000 was received to restore juntos park located in the city of los angeles. This restoration will take several years.
Developing and executing bilingual/bicultural programs and workshops regarding stormwater captureand developing a sense of leadership and ownership by local community members.macarther park; this two year city of los angeles project ends december 2024. The focus was informing and education of the community of the storm water capture project funded by measure w. the contract included stakeholder engagement, organizing community events, identifying constituents, working with established nonprofits, educational institutions. Business community including street vendors and other constituents.
