Overdraft privilege - through this program, we will pay a member's check instead of returning the item when their account has a negative balance. The Credit Union still charges a $30 fee per item just as they would if the check was returned, however, by paying the check the member avoids a fee from the merchant. The Credit Union has policies in place that qualifies a member for this service.
Investment interest income funds provide higher or more competitive interest rates members earn on their deposits thus encouraging more savings, as well as a liquidity source for the Credit Union.
