Program areas at MRC
The Municipal Review Committee ("mrc") continued to support its member municipalities in managing their Municipal solid waste disposal. In order for mrc to fulfill its mission of obtaining environmentally sound and affordable disposal of Municipal solid waste for its members, it sponsored the development of a new facility to manage the Municipal solid waste originating within its member municipalities. Mrc selected a developer of an emerging technology, to own, design, finance, construct, and operate a waste processing facility on behalf of its member municipalities. Shortly after commercial operations began, the new facility suspended operations. Mrc is coordinating the disposal of its members' Municipal solid waste at other facilities until a new owner/operator can restart commercial operations.
