The Music Education Initiative promotes music education and appreciation among the general public and school-aged children. It showcases Juke Joint, a reproduction of a historic southern music venue, originally commissioned by the Clinton Library in 2020 and donated for musical use in 2021. The initiative features the Cast of Blues exhibit, which displays facial casts of renowned past and current Blues musicians, accompanied by descriptions detailing their origins. This exhibit attracts attention from various school districts and engages the general public.

Program areas at The Music Education Initiative

The Music Education Initiative was the first organization to be accepted into the program and the first to raise the maximum eligible matching funds from the ioby Northwest Arkansas Neighborhood Match Program. This program provides matching funds on donations received to help provide more music education programs across the state.
The Music Education Initiative was selected to send a delegate to both the Music Cities and Music Cities Tourism Conferences which allows the organization to expand music education.
The Cast of Blues exhibit are cast of faces of the great artist of past and current Blues musicians. Each facial cast has a description of the artist and their origins. This exhibit has been viewed by several school districts and was open for the general public. This was the second year that The Music Education Initiative has bought this exhibit to the State of Arkansas.
The Music Education Initiative helped sponsor the 2023 Arkansas County Blues & Strings Band Festival which was a weekend event to for general public to come and enjoy live performances.
Juke Joint was originally commissioned by the Clinton Library in 2020 as a reproduction of a music joint of the south in early American history. The Clinton Library Foundation donated the Juke Joint to The Music Education Initiative in 2021 for use in music education. The Juke Joint is currently located in the Pryor Center Atruim for ongoing public presentations and community activations. The Music Education Initiative pays performing artist to play at the Juke Joint. When a live performance is not available at the Juke Joint, The Music Education Initiative has programmed performances for the ongoing enjoyment of music appreciation for the general public. World Languages, Literatures & Cultures presented The Music Education Initiative with $300.00 for Honorarium for the use of the Juke Joint for their Experience Project.
The Music Education Initiative (MEI) was selected to send a panelist and presentor to the 2023 Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas City. The allowed MEI to expand their music educational into the Kansas City area.
The Music Education Initiative (MEI) was the Receiptance of Year Two of the Music Organizations Advancement Coalition (MOAC) Grant funded by the Walton Family Foundation to help further the efforts of MEI to bring music education to the Northwest Arkansas area.
