Musiqa enriches and inspires the Houston community through programs that integrate music with other art forms. The organization presents opportunities for artists to showcase their skills and engages thousands of people in arts experiences, both in person and through digital content. Musiqa collaborates with local artists to expand access to high-quality artistic experiences around Houston. They even performed in Hobby Airport for countless travelers to Houston.

Program areas at Musiqa

Music-Musiqa presented over 100 artists with opportunities to showcase their skills and engaged more than 20,500 people in arts experiences in the Houston area and beyond through in-person and digital content. Musiqa presented a series of collaborations with local/national composers, artists and musicians, including both in-person and virtual programming. New Year, New Music, New Movement featured a collaboration with Houston Ballet II for an evening of modern music in conversation with dance. Musiqa on Film featured a number of Houston premieres by composers from around the world. New Dimensions featured the live premiere of Sam Wus Weather Model along with a selection of other works. Musiqa also presented world premieres by emerging composers at its New Voices concert and the world premiere of Voices from the Underground by Pierre Jalbert at the Houston Cistern.
Harmony in the Air Public Performance - Musiqa expanded access to high quality artistic experiences around Houston, providing opportunities for artists at varying stages of their careers. They performed for countless travelers to Houston at Hobby Airport through participation in Houston Airport Systems Harmony in the Air program.
Musiqa previously launched the first MusiqaLab program fostering young composers at Madison High School, a Title 1 school in Houston, presented free performances at the Contemporary Art Museum Houston and launched a new consortium emerging Black, Latinx and Indigenous composers and continues to expand this program.
Musiqa receives Ticket Sales, Workshop and Promotional Sales revenue.
