Program areas at Musselshell Valley Community Foundation
The MVCF served as the fiscal sponsor of the annual Roundup Independence Days Extravaganza (RIDE) which includes a children's rodeo, family entertainment and activities and a theater production serving approximately 5,000 individuals annually.
The MVCF provided funding opportunities to different non-profits in Musselshell Valley communities by enhancing worthwhile community vitality projects as well as issuing grants to local non-profits. In 2023, MVCF awarded five different grants that will benefit the community and our future generations. These grants were made to RIDE, RHS Agriculture Dept, Roundup Community Partners, Roundup Little League Baseball, Earth Sciences Foundation and Montana Community Foundation.
MVCF sponsors the Roundup Community Partners in their goal of revitalizing Roundup which worked towards completing a visitor kiosk and plaques highlighting Roundup's history and began plans to revitalize a playground at our historic Central School.
MVCF sponsors Market on Main that assists in revitalizing the small town economy and allows local vendors a place to set up.
The Arts & Culture Committee (A&C) of the Musselshell Valley Community Foundation continued its role of sponsoring or hosting local events to entertain, engage, and stimulate people of all ages, most notably Shakespeare in the Parks.
The MVCF served as the fiscal sponsor for the Musselshell County Recovery Team (MCRT) which was established to receive donations and disburse payments to individuals affected by the 2011 flood of the Musselshell River. The MCRT expanded its mission in 2012 to include individuals affected by the fires that devastated a portion of Musselshell County in 2012 and additional flooding in 2013. This entity is currently dormant with no current disaster response requirements but remains intact and ready to respond should that situation change.
