Description
To provide disaster relief based on the principles of solidarity, mutual aid, and autonomous direct action. By working with, listening to, and supporting impacted communities, especially their most vulnerable members, to lead their own recovery, we build long-term, sustainable and resilient communities. Supplies Distribution Program -Distributed over 20 tons of cleaning supplies, soap and other hygiene supplies, baby supplies, water, tents, sleeping bags, household goods, and other essential supplies to people impacted by disasters, positively impacting at least 40,000 people.

Program areas at Mutual Aid Disaster Relief

Supplies Distribution Program - Distributed over 100 tons of cleaning supplies, soap and other hygiene supplies, baby supplies, water, tents, sleeping bags, household goods, and other essential supplies to people impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, hurricanes, and other disasters, positively impacting at least 100,000 people.
Wellness Program - Distributed N95 masks and other masks to healthcare workers and vulnerable community members, provided gloves, hand sanitizer, and other PPE, shared immune support items, first aid, herbal care, supplements, mental wellness care packages, over the counter medications, engaged in wellness checks, and other wellness services to people impacted by the coronavirus and other disasters, positively impacting at least 10,000 people.
Rebuilding a Better World Program - Engaged in debris cleanup, roof-tarping, construction, mold-remediation and the cleaning, repair and rebuilding of individual's homes and community buildings after hurricanes and other disasters, positively impacting over 5,000 people.
Sustainable and Ecological Resilience Program - Completed solar photovoltaic installations and deployed our mobile solar unit to ensure people impacted by disasters could charge medical devices, phones, and have their other electricity needs met in an off-grid sustainable way, positively impacting at least 1,000 people.
Feed the People Program - Provided hot meals, drinks, and grocery items, including culturally appropriate food items to people experiencing food insecurity and hunger impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other disasters, positively impacting at least 5,000 people.
Invisible Disasters Program - Distributed 60 tons of firewood to people on Pine Ridge Reservation who were going without reliable heating during cold-weather, responded to water crises and power outages, providing water and other assistance positively impacting at least 3,000 people.
Animal Survivor Program - Provided dog food, cat food, cat litter, flea medication, and other pet supplies for animals impacted by disasters, positively impacting at least 500 animals.
Connection Lifeline Program - Helped people impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and other disasters stay connected to loved ones following disasters and assisted with impacted people's electric bills and other utilities, positively impacting at least 100 people.
Kids in Community Program - Assisted children impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and other disasters with items and activities to support their physical and mental wellness, and involve them in communal recovery efforts, positively impacting at least 400 people.
Popular Education & Training Program: Educated people about disaster preparedness, cultural sensitivity, vicarious trauma, self-care strategies, the importance of listening to survivor's self-determined needs, & other topics vital to our "solidarity not charity" approach, positively impacting over 200 people.
