Program areas at My Village Ministries
Training - MVM spends a considerable amount of time and resources on raising up new churches and training volunteers within those churches to meet the needs of vulnerable families. There is a need for background checks, home assessments, trauma-informed training, insurance and continued oversight for every host family and community coach that is involved in this ministry. MVM trained 92 new volunteers in 2023.
Mentorship - In 2023, MVM provided mentorship for 19 youth that included bimonthly meetings with a trained mentor and once a month special events alongside their peers.
Hospitality - MVM's operations require two facets of hospitality. One is to engage in meetings with new community partners who need information about our services so that they can pass them on to their clients. MVM met with approximately 80 different community partners over coffee, lunch, or in large training sessions throughout 2022. MVM also provides hospitality services to our host families via clothing, gift cards, diapers, and other necessities needed in order to host children in their home. MVM provided hospitality support for 364 hostings in 2023.
Child hosting: My Village staff trains, background checks, and provides oversight for families to host children in their home for a short period of time while their parents walk through a crisis. My Village staff is the primary expense of this program as they are needed to train, safety check, and raise up volunteers. In 2023 MVM hosted 80 children.
Benevolence - My Village Ministries provides care and support for families walking through crises, including grieving the loss of a loved one or even losing their home. The organization provides meals and other support to these families through the benevolence program, as well as support to the volunteers who are caring for them.
