Program areas at Nagap the Association for Graduate Enrollment Management
Annual conference: each spring, a three day conference brings new and experienced members from across the country together with leading professionals, in their field of Graduate admissions and Graduate education. the annual conference encourages professional excellence, facilitates networking among the membership, provides both practical and problem solving sessions and helps to define the future direction of Graduate admissions. Session topics often include marketing/recruiting strategies, technological innovations, demographic change and legal issues.
Nagap provides several publications to its members which include the Nagap perspectives, e-newsletter and listserve. the perspectives is published quarterly and provides members with timely and professional information and the opportunity to share their views in print on a variety of topics. Issues regularly contain articles on current events in their field of law, government, research and education that impact Graduate students and Graduate admissions professionals. the electronic newsletter contains up to the minute news and information. There are also regular features on upcoming events and job openings in Graduate admissions. the electronic mailing list (listserve) provides members and those with an interest in Graduate admissions/education issues a timely forum to share ideas and observations about the day-to-day activities affecting the profession. Job announcements and conference information is also posted for members to receive the latest information about ongoing activities in the field.
Professional development institutes provide opportunities for members to learn and grow in the area of Graduate admissions. Nagap offers three levels of professional development institutes. the first is for new Graduate admissions professionals. the second is an advanced level institute designed for professionals who have been in Graduate admissions for more than three years. the third, an executive level, focuses in-depth on topics relevant to deans, directors and administrators who are responsible for Graduate admissions.
Nagap recognizes Graduate admissions professionals for their contributions to the field. Awards are given to individuals who show leadership, provide unique and innovative visions, build bridges of dialog, communication or exchange or promote excellence. Local and regional chapters have formed to promote professional development, networking, knowledge sharing, and enrichment to professionals in the region.
