NAMI Alaska

The mission of NAMI Alaska is to help individuals challenged by mental health illness build better lives through education, advocacy, support, and public awareness to end the stigma of mental illness. We offer help and hope to those seeking solutions. We are working towards a time where all people affected by a mental health condition live healthy fulfilling lives supported by their families, their cultures and a caring community. As the statewide umbrella organization, we work with our local affiliates enhancing their outreach and support in the communities of Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and the Northslope. We are expanding the roster of NAMI signature programs throughout the state. We provide training for NAMI Alaska program leaders to become certified to facilitate or teach our support groups and classes. In the current year, we successfully produced a Mental Health Symposium with focus on cultural awareness of our Indigenous populations in the state.
