Program areas at NAMI Wisconsin

Nami Wisconsin provides program trainings for family and peer to support recovery, education and advocacy. Support given also provided by referal support calls and emails. We host an annual conference, awareness events including mental illness awareness month, mental illness awareness week, minority awarenes month and suicide awareness month. Outreach includes bimonthly iris newsletter, website and social media maintenance, presentations and tabling at conferences and events. Support to local affiliates through tranings and affiliate technical support. Youth programming through raise your voice clubs and in school presentations. Crisis intervention training which provides education to law enforcement and correctional officers on how to respond to those in a mental health crisis.
Nami Wisconsin took a led in developing a statewide advocacy coalition called, mental health action partnership (mhap). This coalition has taken over 75% capacity of two staff from the office and 25% of another.
