Program areas at Naperville Education Foundation
Each year through our Annual and Express Grant Awards programs, NEF gives 30-50 competitive grants to Naperville School District 203 schools that develop innovative projects which stimulate students' engagement and learning experience. These projects provide experiences that excite, motivate and help students grow, learn and achieve. Annual grants are awarded in the categories of STEM, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Fine Arts & Physical Education, and Diversity & Inclusion. Express grants are awarded in a monthly grant cycle.Additionally, NEF serves as a vehicle through which donors can fund projects and grants for Naperville Community Unit Schools. Funds are also granted to remove barriers to learning for economically disadvantaged students'. These grants meet the unique needs of students and enhance educational, physical, or social emotional well-being.
NEF provides funding to 21 of our 22 schools for their Before and After school programs. These programs extend learning beyond the school bell while giving each school the flexibility to tailor a program to a school community's specific needs. Homework or math clubs, supervised study time, or FIRST LEGO League team experiences are just a few examples of Before and After School Programs that enrich student learning.
Scholarships awarded to qualified students in the Naperville School District 203 for educational related expenses associated with a college degree granting program.
Our Kid Booster Anonymous Fund is a lifesaver for a growing number of District 203 children and families. Kid Booster matches a student's specific and unique needs to particular opportunities and supports that enhance their educational, physical or socio-emotional growth. In all cases, we call on community agencies to partner with us so our support can go even further. Each case and student is unique, but in all instances, we help students with the basics they need to learn, or the boost they need to enrich their school experience.
Other programs include Incubator and Emerging Needs.
