Culture change and storytelling project the Foundation's culture change and storytelling project aims to normalize abortion by ending the shame and stigma associated with abortion care. By creating safe spaces for people who have had abortion to tell their personal stories as well as for people to hear and understand the need for abortion care, the Foundation's programming helps to bridge understanding, keep abortion legal and ensure it is accessible for everyone no matter who they are, where they live, or their ability to pay.
Grassroots organizing & leadership development this program works to protect and advance reproductive rights and freedom by building and engaging its grassroots activist network across the state. The Foundation does this through community programming, culture change work, activist training, and direct public outreach to educate virginians on the status of reproductive rights, what is at stake and what they can do to make positive change.
Virginia reproductive equity alliance (vrea) - the vrea is a group of multiple reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations building power across differences to advance reproductive freedom and racial equity for all people in Virginia. The Foundation's goal is to destigmatize abortion and make it more accessible for marginalized communities across the commonwealth. The Foundation co-founded the coalition and is the fiscal sponsor for the vrea.
Rise up for Repro: student fellowship this program develops individual Virginia based college and university students to be the next reproductive freedom movement leaders. During an entire academic year, the Foundation's student fellows develop leadership and organizing skills to build a base of reproductive rights advocates and supporters on campus. The Foundation also advocates for proactive change with their universities administrations for increased access to reproductive healthcare for their campuses and local communities. By increasing the number, diversity, and quality of its young grassroots leaders, this program significantly advances the Foundation's overall capacity to raise public awareness and affect policy change for reproductive freedom.
