The Naspa Foundation program service offerings fall into five primary categories: scholarships - the jim rhatigan fellowship and other scholarships provide access to Naspa events for aspiring and current student affairs professionals looking to further their student affairs education. Access scholarships were created to support membership dues and financial assistance for attendance to professional development events.grants - the Naspa Foundation supports the discovery of new knowledge through research and innovation in the field of student affairs. This is achieved through a continued commitment to funding selected submitted proposals for research grants such as the channing briggs small research grant.this is also achieved by supporting innovation grants. Naspa innovation grants provide seed funding for new and otherwise unfunded student success and learning programs at institutions around the world. Applicants are evaluated on program significance, project design and practicability, applicability and transferability, and overall impact.awards - the Naspa Foundation funds four named awards conferred on exceptional student affairs educators and practitioners at all level of the profession: - hardee dissertation of the year award - ruth strang research award - robert h. shaffer award for academic excellence as a graduate faculty member - george d. kuh award for outstanding contribution to literature and/or researchthe Naspa Foundation also recognizes exceptional student affairs practitioners with the awards below. Donors are encouraged to give in their honor. - pillars of the profession award - john l. blackburn distinguished pillar of the profession award Naspa constituent group support - the Naspa Foundation provides the infrastructure for Naspa constituent groups to fundraise on behalf of their particular groupfs initiatives and goals, with a dual purpose of both increasing the reach of Naspa constituent group work and providing Naspa members an opportunity to designate funds to initiatives supporting their area of focus and/or identity within Naspa. Funding is allocated to scholarships, research grants, awards, and educational events according to guidelines set by the Naspa Foundation board of directors and in line with the Naspa Foundation's mission and other program service offerings. Events - the Naspa Foundation holds events at the Naspa annual conference designed to honor student affairs legacies, showcasing the breadth and depth of their careers in order to inspire future generations within the field.
