Program areas at National Alliance for Caregiving
Established in 1996, the National Alliance for Caregiving (nac) is a nonprofit coalition of National organizations catalyzing system change to build health, wealth, and equity for america's 53 million family caregivers. We share a vision of a society that values, supports and empowers family caregivers to thrive at home, work and life. The Alliance conducts research, does policy analysis, develops National best-practice programs, and works to increase public awareness of family Caregiving issues. We provide technical support and networking for more than 80 state and local Caregiving coalitions across the united states. See continuation on schedule o.framing our work are four impact priorities: build caregiver health and wellness; mobilize community support for family caregivers; champion economic justice for caregivers; and build caregiver equity and inclusion. Notable efforts of the Alliance during 2022 included launching initiatives exploring the mental health of family caregivers; identifying system challenges facing family caregivers of transplant patients; researching and organizing a guide for patient advocacy organizations to support diverse family caregivers; and convening the second world carers conversation, a global virtual event where practitioners, researchers, policymakers and carer advocates from around the globe gathered to highlight and share innovations in Caregiving research, practice and policy. Nac also released the report, chronic disease family Caregiving through a public health lens, and continued its advocacy efforts to support key policy initiatives directly impacting family caregivers, including the r.a.i.s.e. Family caregivers act.
