Program areas at National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation
Celebration of service to america (sta) : the celebration of sta gala, held each year, recognizes local radio and television Broadcasters for outstanding public service. In addition to recognizing stations for servicing their local communities, the Leadership award is presented to a public figure outside of the broadcasting industry in recognition of his or her humanitarian work. The celebration is produced into a television show that airs on stations nationwide.
Media sales academy (msa): msa program trains recent college graduates during an intensive training program, where the students learn about winning sales strategies, networking, presenting effective pitches and closing sales. At the end of the program, student make mock sales presentations to recruiting companies. Many students who participate are hired for media sales positions. Msa trains college juniors through recent college graduates.
Broadcast Leadership training (blt): the executive mba-style program is held one weekend per month at nab's hq in Washington, dc. Faculty include media brokers, financial experts, venture capitalists, prominent Broadcasters, management experts, fcc commissioners and college professors. Blt program helps in expanding the number of broadcast owners and senior executives from diverse backgrounds.
Technology apprenticeship program (tap) is designed to train and inform students on engineering, information systems and emerging technologies in broadcasting, including aws cloud-based instruction. The program is rooted in workforce development and participants will interact with subject matter experts, ranging from former graduates to senior managers to recruiters. There is an emphasis on developing and maximizing your skill sets to prepare you for open positions at local stations.
