Program areas at NADO
Membership Services: NADO provides advocacy, education, research and timely and relevant training and information to members. NADO News is a members' only weekly e-publication that covers the latest developments on Capitol Hill, in the administration and within the NADO membership. Our website, NADO.org, is home to information about current legislative efforts, conferences and workshops. NADO's legislative team works daily with Congress, the administration, federal agencies, coalition partners and key stakeholders to promote the value, capacity and effectiveness of the nation's regional development organizations. NADO is the most effective national voice for the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and the Economic Development District (EDD) program.
Regional/rural transportation: For the past decade, NADO has worked tirelessly to secure enhanced federal guidelines for rural consultation and planning services of regional development organizations and their local governments. NADO's Rural Transportation.org Web site has a variety of transportation resources for members.
Annual Conferences: NADO offers unmatched access to professional peers through Annual Training Conferences, Washington Policy Conferences and other virtual and face-to-face meetings and seminars.Annual Conference - Highlighted innovative practice of regional development organizations. Resilient Regions- In partnership with Rupri and the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), NADO is working to assist regions in taking a more pro-active approach to pre-disaster preparedness and post-disaster economic recovery. Through partnerships and training, NADO is working with regional development organizations (RDOs) and other partners to explore methods to hasten post-disaster economic recovery and reduce the long-term financial burden of disasters (natural disasters as well as economic disasters) on impacted communities, businesses, and individuals.
Organizational Capacity and Professional Development: Training webinars provide an in-depth look at the latest news and trends affecting regional development organization management, staffing, and reporting. Topics include accounting standards, board engagement, new executive director training, social media strategies, and much more. Each webinar is led by an expert in the field who will provide best practices and examples.
