Program areas at NAFB
Convention-there are two conventions held each year, the annual convention and the Washington dc convention. The conventions are conducted to provide professional improvement sessions, guest panels, and award ceremonies. At the convention membership meetings are held. There is also an opening reception and banquet in order for members and guests to network. An average of 750 people attend the annual convention held in Kansas city.
Member services-recruit new members. Evaluate/retain membership value. Develop membership materials. The membership materials developed are membership applications, membership brochures outlining membership benefits and history of the association, membership directory, and member profiles. These materials are distributed to prospective and new members. In 2023, there were approximately 801 members.
Marketing/promotion-promoting nafb through research and marketing calls. This is accomplished by surveying producers about their media consumption. The agricultural market is targeted nationally. Marketing tools include sales materials, research highlights, advertising in industry publications, and promoting the nafb planner; an online tool aiding the industry in decision-making.
News service- the nafb news service is a media-release distribution service for those wishing to reach Farm broadcasters and, through them, rural america. Each broadcast council and student member of the nafb has access to the nafb news service. More than 45 networks and 70 stations and broadcast groups make up the nafb broadcast council and collectively provide programming aimed at rural audiences on more than 1800 radio stations nationwide.
