Program areas at Global Council for Science and the Environment
Environmentors is an environment-based mentoring program aimed at preparing high school students for college programs and careers in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (stem). This program is a collaborative effort of volunteer Science and environmental professionals, aspiring underserved high school students, Science teachers, school administrators, government agencies, community organizations, foundations and businesses who generously support our work.in partnership with nasa, gcse led the Science as actionable knowledge pilot program, which supports a cohort of researchers as they pursue applications-oriented scientific research, to enhance user uptake and use in decision-making.gcse facilitated communities of practice (cops) for its members to support and amplify education, research, solutions, and analysis from higher education institutions.gcse continued our initiative on pathways toward accreditation for sustainability and sustainability-related programs exploring establishing standards for sustainability and sustainability-related programs in higher education.
An international conference on Science, policy and the Environment brings scientists, policy makers, business and civic leaders together to develop recommendations on the Science for environmental decision-making. the conference was not held during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
