In 2022, our helpline supported individuals affected by Eating Disorders and their loved ones with finding the tools and resources they need to get help. In 2022 our helpline fielded over 69,000 requests.digital and social media support: our website is one of the top resources for Eating Disorders information, with over 3.9 million unique visitors in 2022, with 81% being new visitors. Our screening tool, developed by top Eating disorder researchers, and launched on our site in 2017, will reach 1 million completed screenings in 2023. It's a powerful first step towards identification for many. Our awareness campaigns- Eating Disorders awareness week, body acceptance week, and no diet day- are important public education campaigns about Eating Disorders, recovery, and prevention. These campaigns generate important public service messages and millions of media impressions.our neda walks program takes place in more than 49 cities nationwide. These community-building events provide support to all those affected by Eating Disorders. There were 49 walks in 2022, raising $888,395.00 and was supported by 8,132 walkers and 853 teams.the campus warriors program debuted in 2022. This awareness, education, support and fundraising program launched on 72 campuses. A major advancement in 2022 was our new collaboration and partnership with gfed, the global foundation for Eating Disorders. They provided a seed investment of $140,000 to stand up the gfed young investigator fund, managed by neda. The first award of $50,000 made from this fund was to dr. alexandra muratore, columbia, for her project, "advancing neurostimulation treatments for anorexia nervosa".neda also made two investments through our feeding hope fund, in the amount of $125,000 per grant, to support two novel and significant projects: 1. Dr. janet lydecker, yale, "mixed methods study of cognitive behavioral therapy for teens who have bulimia nervosa and higher weight" 2. Dr. rachel vanderkruik, mass general hospital, harvard, "preventing Eating disorder relapse among at-risk perinatal women. "we are a proud member of the Eating Disorders coalition and believe that collectively our member organizations have done monumental work in passing legislation including the anna westin legacy act and securing up to $8m in funding for research and early identification training. We are disappointed that congress did not pass kosa and will continue to double down on this important piece of work to keep our children safe online.
Other program activities include our research grant program, conference programs, public policy and advocacy activities, early intervention programs, and ad hoc engagements that support individuals and families affected by Eating Disorders and to serve as a catalyst for prevention, cures and access to quality care.
