NLGA conducts an Annual Meeting, usually hosted by a member, as an opportunity to showcase unique state-by-state resources, best practices, shared solutions, and common experiences with a goal to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of government. This meeting also focuses on leadership training and the unique training for the office of lieutenant governor and of succession. NLGA staff salaries are a sunk cost.
NLGA maintains and adds to a roster of information on seconds-in-command at www.nlga.us. NLGA conducts virtual meetings and trainings. NLGA produces an e-newsletter twice monthly, and maintains active, daily social media to the mission. NLGA answers inquiries from and collaborates with legislative staff, reporters, academics, researchers, and more. NLGA serves as a federal-state intergovernmental affairs link. NLGA salaries are a sunk cost.
NLGA awards 12 STEM scholarships a year to schools. NLGA donates STEM toys for under-resourced youth at various meeting locations. NLGA salaries are a sunk cost.
