2023 Conference - On behalf of the NLN Board of Directors, we sincerely thank you for your tremendous support. We hope that you feel proud being a part of our community, supporting the work that we do for the benefit of people with lymphedema. As we explore ways to bring more value to you as members, we may experiment with different programs and ideas; however, our moral compass, our true North, is unwavering and steadfast. We always consider if what we offer is ultimately going to improve the lives of people with lymphedema. The educational program of the 2023 Conference was developed with this in mind and is undoubtedly aligned with our mission. As a token of our appreciation, we would like to invite all of our active members to a special reception on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. We are so grateful for your dedication, engagement, and support as we continue on this journey. We look forward to supporting you as much as you have supported us, and hope you can join us at the NLN Membership Reception.
Garment Program - The National Lymphedema Network offers a Garment Program where Clinician & Organization levels of membership can submit applications for patients who require compression garments however do not have insurance coverage or the financial means to purchase. In conjunction with generous industry sponsors and a dedicated volunteer committee of experts, the NLN provides a plethora of medically necessary compression garments to patients in need.
Lymphedema Education, Community Resources & Patient Services - The National Lymphedema Network (NLN) hosts regular Clinical Focus Groups (CFG) where clinicians can meet virtually to delve into specific areas of interest. The Lymphedema Leadership Program was created in 2023 to increase the availability of lymphedema treatment. The NLN Expert Clinician program was developed in 2021 to recongnize lymphedema therapists who have extensive experience in treating people with lymphedema and possess expertise in the core skills needed to provide excellent patient care. Highly skilled clinicians are offered the opportunity to receive Individualized coaching from experts in the field of lymphology and have their demonstrations of core competencies assessed. Clinicians who demonstrate the necessary manual and clinical skills will receive an NLN Expert Clinician certificate and medallion and be distinguished by the designation in the NLN Lymphedema Therapy Directory. Candidates who are accepted can attend the entire 2023 Conference as part of the support for continued professional development, courtesy of the NLN. The program's capacity is ten clinicians Virtual resources to the community include position papers, social media blogs on Facebook & LinkedIn, and an extensive Lymphedema Directory of lymphedema treatment centers that allow patients to connect with qualified lymphedema clinicians. Additional community support is available via an 800-phone line and email account where inquiries can be made. The NLN is also very dynamic and listens to the expressed needs of membership and the community and responds by creating special events.
