Program areas at National Network for Youth
Community program - training and technical assistance to communities and organizations related to serve runaway, homeless and trafficked Youth. This work in communities centers Youth with lived experience and implements a cross system and intersectional approach to preventing and ending Youth and young adult homelessness.
Youth engagement - through our National Youth advisory council, the National Network for Youth partners with young leaders who previously experienced homelessness. These young people educate the public, policymakers, service providers and community officials about the issues that young people face when experiencing homelessness. This work also assists communities, government agencies, organizations, and initiatives in creating, improving, or sustaining Youth action boards (yab) for the purpose of preventing and ending Youth, young adult and young family homelessness.
National summit - the National Network for Youth's annual event that focuses on how government agencies, policymakers, young leaders, service providers and other experts can partner together to prevent and respond to Youth homelessness.
Policy/advocacy - we partner with our members and young leaders to: educate the public and policymakers about the needs of young people experiencing homelessness; and advocate for effective policies. This work centers Youth with lived experience and advances cross system and intersectional solutions to preventing and ending Youth and young adult homelessness and human trafficking.
