Program areas at NRA
Food safety training and other educational programs including ServSafe, which is the industry standard for training employees in safe food handling. During 2023, NRA tested 832,502 foodservice managers in ServSafe programs and issued a total of 639,226 certifications.
Support of tradeshows: The 2023 National Restaurant Association Show attracted over 60,000 attendees from all over the United States and around the world, covering over 659,000 square feet, showcasing manufacturers and suppliers from across the foodservice industry.
Government Relations and Communications: The NRA monitors both Federal and State government and legislation for changes in their policies as they relate to the restaurant industry. Depending on the specific issue, the NRA, along with the State Restaurant Associations, develops an appropriate position and response to the specific issue and works with government agencies/organizations to achieve the best possible outcome for the industry. The NRA maintains and distributes publications on various matters that affect the industry.
