National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Maryland was established to preserve Colonial heritage. Since 1917, the Nscda-Md has operated the historic Mount Clare Museum House in Baltimore that houses a significant collection of 18th and 19th century artwork and furniture. The organization also grants scholarships to students to allow them to learn more about National government through a week of citizenship education held in Washington DC. Programs include the preservation of Colonial heritage by Dames and affiliated town and county committees.
