Support of the national society daughters of the american revolution by contributing to kate duncan smith dar school with a scholarship for underpriveledged children and a summer work scholarship; provide funds to crossnore school, hindman settlement school, hillside school, berry college, bacone college and chemawa indian school; and support good citizens in local high schools; aid to the houston veterans and the va hospital rotc medals to college cadets at six schools; literacy projects; renovations of historic building and cemetery preservation of tombstones; museum and library support. All to benefit the public.
To debakey va hospital for support of injured and sick veterans, magazine subscriptions to public schools, contributions to local schools, libraries and museums for displays on constitution week, the american flag and other patriotic themes. Support for the ptsd facility that houses veterans to overcome ptsd. A scholarship to rice university and support of homeless veterans. Provided funds for 6 students to attend a journalism workshop. Provided local cemetery with 52 tombstones and paying to have them placed in woodlawn cemetery.
Support to the Texas society daughters of the american revolution by contributing to scholarships at 23 tx universities; armed service awards at tx military bases; a first Lady of Texas museum; collection at a womens college and other charitable endeavors for the good of the public.
The greatest expense was to support the national and state organizations. The next largest expense was to support local programs to support veterans and other items such as scholarships. The third largest expense was to support Chapter events throughout the houston area.
