Description
Nations Ministry Center, as an instrument of god's grace in welcoming refugees and immigrants to middle Tennessee, helps refugee families become generationally self-sufficient through job placements and training, education opportunity, and family services including immigration services. Nations Ministry Center helps refugee families become generationally successful through youth literacy after-school and summer programs, elders services, and road to citizenship immigration services.

Program areas at Nations Ministry Center

Nations Ministry Center helps refugee families become generationally successful through intensive services provided to youth through after- school and summer literacy and skill-building programs. This year the program served 129 youth from more than ten ethic groups. 80 children improved by at least one lexia level and 80 children improved in at least one life-skills competency. Nations Ministry provided 11,933 hours of individualized literacy instruction. Students received nutritious snacks, given books to read, a new pair of shoes, and christmas gifts. In the summer, 103 students participate with 24 in the experience work program and 12 in paid high school internships along with 67 youth in literacy programs. 28 youth improved their reading level by a full grade level during the summer.
Nations Ministry provided 653,034 in mortgage and utilities support in partnership with the united way and metro government as a part of our covid-19 response. 353 families benefited from this program. We opened 279 immigration cases with our department of justice-recognized immigration services. In addition, we conducted 149 immigration consultations. 95 citizenship applications were filed. 53 elders were served through case management, and 296 service requests were fulfilled. Elders gained 36,487 in benefits thanks to this service. We also provided support to ukrainian families seeking protection from the russian invasion. We facilitated 85,000 in support to multiple families.
