Standing buffalo strong project, our clinics work from a strength-based ideal, by providing opportunities for our Native youth and their families to connect to culture to build up their resilence to suicidality. Most of our tribes are tribes of the buffalo, which have been on the brink of extinction, but are still here, are resilient and unlike cows, who try to run from storms, buffalos will charge into a storm to get through it quicker. Hence the name of our project-standing buffalo strong and our purpose-is to provide opportunities and ways for our youth and their families to connect to their culture, to face their storms, to build their resilience to charge into those storms-to get through them. To stand buffalo strong.
