Native Sun Community Power Development

In 2022, Native Sun Community Power Development secured a competitive u.s. department of energy award (deee0009865) for the upper midwest intertribal electric vehicle (ev) charging Community network project. This initiative focuses on the installation of public level 2 ev charging stations on red lake and standing rock reservations, assessing ev needs among tribal departments, and evaluating fast charging locations. Native Sun managed collaboration across multiple partners, sponsored energy audits and weatherization actions within little earth indian Community housing, and coordinated a one-year fellowship at the red lake language and culture immersion school, incorporating environmental stewardship into their curriculum.
