Education: through student engagement, organizing, parent involvement, and leadership development, Navigate works to create schools that provide a pathway to higher education and economic prosperity for latinx youth. Navigate works to bring accountability and create a healing path in an education system that has a history of systemic disenfranchisement and oppression for students of color, including but not exclusive to those with a latinx background.immigration: our immigration-focused programs envision permanent protection for all immigrants and refugees, while centering the realities of historically marginalized identities. We build capacity with, without, and against structures in federal, state, county, and municipal levels to build and implement policies. Our constituency is clear: we want power, not only papers. To accomplish these goals, we have worked on non-partisan organizing and advocacy campaigns for drivers licenses for all, a Minnesota dream act, and against so-called "public charge" regulations. Civic engagement: Navigate believes that everybody has the right to organize and build power for the things that impact their/our lives. Our model is not citizenship based, but community based. Through "polpop" (political-popular) education, we untangle policy into real life approach to deeply reflect on issues. Community organizing then provides a direct line to elected officials accountable to represent the values and priorities at the public arena with clarity that those affected by the issues will continue to build power in order to have a seat at the table and win on their/our issues. We have engaged in non-partisan voter education and engagement and preparation for the 2020 census.
