Program areas at Ncmodernistusmodernist - TM
Usmodernist.org and ncmodernist.org are award-winning archives of over 21,000 Modernist houses and 400 architects. The sites allow the public to remember and preserve america's legacy of innovative design. During 2023 Modernist Archive added over 1,000 important Modernist houses to the Archive and scanned over 300,000 pages of architecture magazines. In addition to maintaining and growing the archives, Modernist Archive hosts popular movies, tours, and other events, giving the public access to the most exciting residential architecture, past and present, to preserve these "livable works of art" for future generations. During 2023 Modernist Archive was involved in Modernist house tours and other event to over 1000 people and led tours to copenhagen, oslo, bergen, and palm springs.
Modernist Archive hosted the 12th annual george matsumoto prize for excellence in Modernist home design, a competition for north carolina houses and architects.
Modernist Archive creates a breadth of awareness across america by engaging media influencers and academia. During 2023 Modernist Archive produced 52 new episodes of the long running podcast usmodernist radio, a weekly newsletter going out to over 35,000 people a week and maintained a north carolina for sale database to publicize available mordernist houses for sale or rent.
