Program areas at NDN Collective
Grant awards are provided to tribal nations, communities, and organizations as an investment in indigenous power and a means to foster equity and inclusion and to reframe decision-making with those most impacted. Significant, multi-year grant support is intended to advance community-based solutions most aligned with defend, develop, and decolonizing strategies. A range of priority areas can be supported, including an emphasis on climate mitigation strategies. Typically, $250,000 grants are awarded over two years.
Community action fund - frontline organizers and movements are supported in their work to defend, develop and decolonize. Modest urgent response grants are provided to groups and individuals most impacted by local challenges, ensuring that resources and decision-making ability lies with those most affected by the results and most equipped to solve immediate challenges. Typically, short-term six month grants up to $40,000 are awarded.president's partnership fund - strategic partnerships based on reciprocity, Collective movement building and mutually meaningful goals can be identified by the president. Peer funders and indigenous movement builders will be invited by the president. This fund resides within the president's office of the Collective but be administered by the Collective's foundation team.other grant programs - there may be other funds or grant programs that are time-bound, donor advised and/or nimble or flexible enough to carry out a specific purpose or project, i.e. ; covid 19 response; get out the vote, he sapa community development fund, justice 40.regional deep dive grants provide sizable, multi-year support grants in four key regions of NDN focus and synergy, where eco-systems are emerging and benefit from deeper power building support and investment. These funds are administered by the foundation team and are directed by the NDN president/ceo and regional directors.
Monetary gifts are provided for wealth building and investment to indigenous people on indigenous terms within the tri-state region of Minnesota, north dakota and south dakota. Typically, grants between $25,000 and $50,000 are awarded over one year.
