For charitable, scientific & educational purposes primarily promoting public/private partnership, advancing research and technology development, including entrepreneurship.The following were NDSU Research & Technology Park's unique programs in 2022: At the Technology Incubator, the Organization continues to work hard to create an entrepreneurial culture that fosters innovation and encourages ingenuity. This was accomplished by providing coaching and Continued on Schedule O...mentoring services and networking events. In 2014, the Organization became an administrator for the State of North Dakota Department of Commerce Innovate ND program. The RTP is responsible for assisting companies with developing a business plan, creating and executing a budget for Innovate ND funds and providing the company with coaching and mentoring. The Organization worked with eight companies through the program this past year. Many of these companies after completing the program have become clients of the incubator. The Organization assisted the North Dakota Small Business Development Center in organizing a Financing ND conference. Topics at the conference included grants, debt financing and bank programs. Speakers included representatives from the North Dakota Department of Commerce, North Dakota Small Business Development Center and the Bank of North Dakota. The event was attended by 76 people and was recorded on Zoom for others to view.The Organization continues to work with the clients located in the incubator building providing coaching and mentoring services.The Organization has been developing a cutting-edge makerspace which is located in the Technology Incubator. The NDSU Innovation Studio will link together students, faculty and private sector companies in creating innovative products that will evolve into creating new businesses or expand existing businesses that will produce or maintain jobs. It will provide an environment for students and private sector companies to develop linkages for providing specialized training for the development of a qualified skilled workforce for industries in the region. The NDSU Innovation Studio has five areas. These areas consist of metalworking, woodworking, digital fabrication, electronics prototyping and textiles. The Innovation Studio officially opened in January, 2023. The RTP has been working with entry level engineering classes, In June of 2008, the Organization invested in NDSU Research Park Ventures, LLC (RPV). The partnership was incorporated for the purpose of operating a renaissance fund corporation for the City of Fargo. The purpose of the fund is to raise funds to be used to make investments in zone and research park projects and to assist in financing of renaissance zone projects in a manner that will encourage capital and real estate investment in the City of Fargo which, in return, will encourage the expansion of technology based entrepreneurial business development. The project zones are located in downtown Fargo and in the NDSU Research & Technology Park at North Dakota State University.
