Due to COVID-19 restrictions on live theatre production, they created Project #1: NEC ZOOM SERIES which featured live-streamed plays, poetry readings and comedy performances from around the world over Zoom, Facebook and YouTube live before being rebroadcast across various platforms.

The mission of the Negro Ensemble Company Inc (nec) is to provide african-american, african and caribbean professional artists with an opportunity to learn to work to grow and to be nurtured in the performing arts. The overhall mission of the nec is to present live theatre performance by and about black people to culturally diverse audiance that is often under served by the theatrical community. Our program is based on realizing the presumptions of the mission statement
