Program areas at Neighborhood Hope

Health Initiative Program provides nutritional education to children and how to see their worth through nutrition. It also educates them on recognizing proteins, vegetables, and good carbohydrates versus bad carbohydrates. This program also provides cooking classes to the students and families to show them substitutions they can make in their every day living to make better choices that will help them continue to get healthier. This program also provides cooked meal on a continuous basis to families who need them.
Neighborhood Initiative provides community and small group activities in the community. This program is meant to be a relational opportunity to provide families resources, whether is is connection to a job or trade school. We also help them if they have a need such as counseling services. This program had to shift to more virtual once COVID-19 hit because we were limited with social gatherings.
The Tutoring Program provides an opportunity for students to receive help with school work and structured assignments through an i-Ready program. This program helps them to assess their current reading comprehension level and allow us to make curriculum specific to each child to help better their reading comprehension levels. We also provide snacks during the tutoring time that currently meets two times a week.
