Program areas at Neighborhood House
Child development - offering a full range of culturally appropriate early-childhood education programs for low-income families, from expectant parents to those with children (birth to 5 years old). Services include early head start and parentchild+ home visiting, as well as head start preschool, to build early literacy and school readiness. In 2022, Neighborhood House provided the following services: - 507 children and their families were served in early head start, 141 in parentchild+, and 368 in head start, for a total of 1,016 children and families - 400 developmental delay screenings were conducted - 350 households received maternal & child health services
Employment, education, and youth engagement - provides employment and educational services for adults and prepares youth for academic and career success. Adults access wrap-around case management, job-search coaching, job placement and retention/advancement support and career training services. Youth programming includes case management, drug and alcohol prevention programs, vocational training and career pathways for out-of-school job seekers, and academic re-engagement, social-emotional skills-building, tutoring and enrichment programs. In 2022 Neighborhood House achieved the following results: -150 job seekers obtained employment -51 individuals received vocational training -59 individuals received resume development assistance -218 youth in grades k-12 engaged in after-school programming -136 youth in grades k-12 engaged in summer educational and recreational programming -71 young people received mentoring
Housing stability, family support and community health - provides social and health services to low-income individuals and families in seattle and king county. Services include case management, financial coaching, citizenship classes and application assistance, emergency assistance services, homelessness prevention and housing stability services, outreach for seniors and people with disabilities; long term medicaid, health home, mac/tsoa, and fcs case management; family caregiver support; and community health services such as hiv/hepatitis testing and counseling, substance use prevention, and mental health referrals. In 2022, Neighborhood House achieved the following results: -2453 individuals received case management services. -1538 people were assisted through referrals -105 adults received literacy/english language instruction -116 adults attended citizenship classes -155 individuals were helped with health insurance enrollment -131 individuals received assistance with applying for social security/ssi benefits -156 people were connected with snap benefits -268 people avoided eviction thanks to temporary rental assistance -55 people were placed in permanent housing -301 hiv/sti screening and counseling sessions were conducted -223 mental health assessments were completed -87 people took parenting classes -08 individuals received transportation assistance
