Nhs continues its commitment to strengthen low to moderate income communities through the development of affordable and sustainable homeownership opportunities. For this fiscal year, nhs provided 2,248 mortgage assistance, 3,245 counseling and financial literacy education to households and assisted clients in avoiding foreclosure through home retention/disposition options. Nhs originated 76 affordable loans for families, provided reinvestment in local neighborhoods and hosted educational workshops and participated in Neighborhood based events. Through direct events contact, media, direct mail and advertising, nhs engaged many volunteers.
