Program areas at Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire

We provided down payment assistance loans and managed an active revolving loan fund that provides borrowers with low or no interest loans for home purchase, home rehabilitation, or home refinance in the Inland Empire. Nhsie maintains a mix of amortizing and deferred loans with terms between 5 and 30 years and are secured by deeds of trust on the underlying properties.
Nhsie and nu continued to expand lending, realty and community engagement efforts resulting in the acquisition and rehabilitation of blighted, foreclosed, vacant properties and providing mortgage assistance so that the homes are within reach of entry level homebuyers. Nhsie and nus programs are activities of the organization's neighborworks home ownership center (hoc), which provides access to affordable quality homes to families that may not otherwise have had the opportunity.
Nhsie attained status as a community development financial institution (cdfi) in 2014. Nhsie and nus provided homebuyer education to families and helped create several first time homebuyers.
